Do not report the car stolen or lie to either the police or insurance company(especially since you've made this post already). If you report the car stolen and you have a witness who seen the accident and dont "throw him under the bus" then you can be charged with obstruction of justice as well as falsifying a police report. If you have an insurance broker and do not deal with the company directly (i.e. signed up online) call him and ask for advice (he is on your side and knows exactly how your policy works and what it covers). "**thats why using a person is better than buying online even though the expense is slightly higher**".
